Replacing an Intercom Handset – Important Information
What is the first step if my intercom isn't working?
First, contact your Apartment Association chairman. Most buildings have maintenance contracts.
If the association does not cover in-apartment device replacement, you can contact us.
What does the replacement cost include?
The fee covers the handset itself and the connection to the existing cable.
• Note: It does NOT include secondary works like installing new cables or repairing the outdoor intercom panel.
Any additional work found necessary outside the handset will be charged separately.
Can I install the handset myself?
Yes, but you assume all technical risks:
• Installing the wrong model or reversing the polarity (+/-) can cause a short circuit in the entire building's system.
• If your DIY installation causes a system-wide failure, you will be liable for the costs of professional repairs and call-out fees.
Why a “Simple” Handset Replacement Can Leave the Entire Building Without an Intercom?
Many residents believe that replacing an intercom handset is as simple as changing a light bulb. This is a dangerous misconception. ...
